FAQs. The Lifting Company is a Western Australian owned and operated company, which was formed in 2001 to provide specialised Lifting, Rigging, Height Safety, Material Handling products and services to Perth’s construction, mining, industrial, and engineering sectors.
Based 15 minutes from the Perth CBD, we employ 30 to 40 highly trained and experienced staff. We can assist with product sales, technical advice, on-site inspections, equipment repairs and testing (using NATA calibrated equipment), and custom engineering for metal fabrication.
Our Welshpool workshop is fitted with state-of-the-art fabrication equipment as well as our own NATA accredited testing facility, which allows us to load test and certify a wide range of equipment. Our clients can rest assured that all gear is tested using the highest quality equipment and in accordance with strict Australian Standards.

What is the SkyHook?
In simple terms the TLC Skyhook is a device to which up to two Self Retracting Inertia Reels are attached that allows 2 operators to perform Safe Working at Heights Tasks whilst connected to a Fall Arrest System in order to prevent injuries sustained from falling.
Where can the SkyHook be used?
In any are where safe working t heights is required. The Mk I Skyhook is recommend for workshop and flat hardstand acres. The Mk II skyhook is designed for use in the field.
How high does the SkyHook allow me to work?
The MkI and MkII SkyHook have reaches to approximately 7 meters allowing safe working at heights on multiple applications, while the MkIII and MkIV have reaches of 16mtrs and 25mtrs respectively.
How many people can connect to the SkyHook?
Up to a maximum of two people can be connected at the same time. Maximum working load is 136kg.
Do I require Training to operate the SkyHook?
Yes – We recommend Competency training in order to operate the SkyHook.
Can I perform rescue and confined space access with the SkyHook?
Yes an optional rescue package is available to connect to the SkyHook.
Is the SkyHook manufactured to any Australian Standards?
The TLC Skyhook is Designed, Manufactured and Tested to Australian Standard AS1891 and AS5532.
Can I rent the SkyHook?
Yes – the SkyHook is available to Long and Short term Hire.
Do I need to be qualified to work at heights?
Yes – you require Safe Working at Heights qualifications to be connected to the SkyHook.
